Is Ditch The Couch For You?

Yeah, if you want a therapist who gets it

Therapy is supposed to feel safe. Supportive. Like something is finally clicking. But for a lot of people, it hasn’t. Maybe you’ve sat across from someone who made you feel like you had to explain your identity before you could explore your pain. Or maybe you’ve done months of sessions without feeling like you moved forward. Or maybe you’ve experienced therapists who left you feeling unseen, unheard, and honestly? Let down.

If you’ve had to filter yourself, carry the conversation, or shrink parts of who you are just to stay in the room, we see you.

And we promise none of that happens here.

This is a space where all of you is welcome. Where identity isn’t a disclaimer. Where your story won’t be judged—just met with care, curiosity, and context. Where we don’t just nod along and call it healing. We work with you, actively, to help things shift and help you live the life you want to live. So yes, if you’re okay with ditching the couch, then this is for you.

Why We Exist

We’re here to change what therapy feels like

Ditch The Couch was created with one goal: Offer care that feels like care. The kind where your lived experience matters. Your identity doesn’t need explaining. And therapy isn’t a dead-end loop—it’s something that moves with you.

We believe therapy should be collaborative, respectful, real, and dare we say it—fun. That means therapists who are present and invested. Conversations that get real deep, real fast. And support that adapts as your life changes.

Everything we do is designed to make therapy feel safer and more human. You, your brain, your trauma, and your healing deserve that.

Our Promises To You

Our Promises To You

(Other than being your biggest cheerleaders)

  • Authenticity:

We show up as our real selves, so you can too. You’ll never have to wonder what your therapist is thinking. We’re honest, transparent, and fully in the room with you.

  • Empowerment:

We’re not here to “fix” you. Our job is to support your growth, reflect what’s working, challenge what isn’t, and help you trust your own instincts again.

  • Playfulness:

Healing can be hard—but it doesn’t have to be joyless. Some sessions are light. Some are messy. Some end in unexpected laughter. All of that is allowed.

  • Collaboration:

This is your process, not ours to control. We ask questions, welcome feedback, and work with you to make sure therapy fits your life—not the other way around.

  • Inclusivity:

You deserve care that holds your full story. Not just the socially acceptable parts. We affirm all races, genders, sexualities, bodies, cultures, and access needs—without making you explain or justify any of them.

  • And one more thing:

We firmly believe that understanding the impacts of trauma is essential to effective therapy, even when trauma isn’t the reason you came in. It shapes how we listen, how we respond, and how we hold space for what’s possible.

How It Works

A simple process for complicated humans

Starting therapy shouldn’t feel like a game you don’t have the rules to. So we’ve made it as easy and human as possible. Here’s what happens next:

01

Book a Consult

Fill out the form and schedule a free call with someone from our team. You can ask questions, share what’s going on, or just feel things out.

02

Get Matched

We’ll help you find the therapist who best fits your needs, your preferences, and your vibe. And if the first match doesn’t feel quite right? You can switch. Seriously. No awkwardness, no guilt.

03

Begin Therapy

(Ditch the Fucking Couch)

Sessions happen virtually or in person, depending on what works for you. You and your therapist will shape the work together, then continue shaping it as you grow.

What We Help With

Come as you are—messy, unsure,
mid-freakout, whatever

We work with people navigating a wide range of challenges, identities, lived experiences, and traumas. Some of that stuff has names, and those names include:

Anxiety, depression, burnout, grief

ADHD, neurodivergence, dissociation

Trauma, C-PTSD, religious trauma

Relationship issues, identity struggles, low self-worth

Gender, sexuality, LGBTQAI+, alternative lifestyles

This isn’t everything. And we don’t ask you to have the perfect words for whatever you’re facing. If you’re struggling, stuck, or craving a space that finally feels like “I could heal here,” we’d be honored to meet you there.

Meet The Team

Your therapists are people, too

Our practice is full of compassionate, highly-trained yet incredibly-human therapists, each with their own lived experiences and ways of operating. Regardless of who you’re matched with, we promise a therapy experience like no other.

Take a look around. You’ll know who feels right.

Goldie Junik, LCSW

Founder, therapist, and
here for all of it

Hey, I’m Goldie.

I founded DTC because I couldn’t stop thinking about what therapy could feel like. Supportive. Grounded. Deep. Effective. A space where people feel seen and held, and leave with direction. I saw how much that kind of space was missing, and I knew I wanted to build it. Needed to, really.

Enter: Ditch The Couch. A space where real humans can gather and grow in an inclusive, always-real environment that leads to change. I don’t think anyone should have to choose between clinical skill and human connection—both should always be part of the equation. And everyone, no matter their identity or lived experience, deserves care that affirms who they are and honors what they’ve been through.

At DTC, we go deep—but we don’t stay stuck. We uncover what’s driving the patterns, and we work together to shift them. I’ll call you in, call you out, and hold space for all of it—but I’m not coming up with the agenda for you. You’ve got to show up ready to do the work.

The point of therapy isn’t to make you a different person. It’s to accept the person you are while staying focused on the one you’re becoming—whoever that may be.

DTC won’t feel like any practice you’ve been to, and that’s entirely intentional. It’s not here to impress the field. It’s here to serve the people walking through the door.

If you’re one of them? You’re already my kind of person.

Meet you inside,

Goldie

Ready When You Are

Let’s do therapy in a way that works for you

There’s no perfect time to start therapy. But if you’ve made it this far, something in you knows it’s time for something different. Whatever “different” looks like for you, we’re excited to sit with you in it and walk you through it.

We take your healing seriously. We just don’t think therapy should feel like a dentist appointment. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll be on the other side of this button.
