We're Hiring!

Come Ditch The Couch With Us.

Are you a therapist who believes great therapy should feel human, collaborative, and actually help people move forward? Do you want the freedom to develop your own clinical style without having to manage all the behind-the-scenes work of running a private practice?

We might be your people.

Ditch The Couch is a small, growing group psychotherapy practice serving clients throughout New York and New Jersey. We're trauma-informed, neurodivergent-affirming, LGBTQIA+-affirming, and big believers that therapy doesn't need to feel cold, clinical, or overly serious to be effective.

We take our work seriously, but we also believe there's room for personality, authenticity, and the occasional terrible joke.

We're looking for passionate, thoughtful therapists who want to build a full-time caseload, grow professionally, and become part of a team that genuinely supports one another.

A Little About Us

We started DTC because we wanted to create the kind of therapy practice we'd actually want to work in (and attend as clients).

One where clinicians have the freedom to be themselves, clients receive thoughtful and individualized care, and collaboration is more than just a buzzword.

Our team works with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, C-PTSD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity concerns, and everything in between.

We value clinical curiosity, professional development, and a willingness to look beyond one-size-fits-all approaches.

And while we're growing, we're intentionally keeping our focus on building a close-knit, supportive team—not a therapy factory.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking clinicians who want DTC to become their primary full-time private practice position once they've established their caseload.

For us, a full-time caseload means approximately 25 completed client sessions per week. Since cancellations happen (because, well, life), clinicians typically schedule a few additional sessions to maintain that average.

We know building a caseload doesn't happen overnight, and we don't expect it to. There's a natural transition period, and our team works alongside you to help you get established.

You'd probably be a great fit if you:

  • Are warm, authentic, compassionate, and genuinely invested in your clients.

  • Believe therapy should be collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to the individual.

  • Value clinical autonomy but also enjoy being part of a team.

  • Are open to feedback, consultation, and continued professional growth.

  • Are LGBTQIA+-affirming, neurodivergent-affirming, and culturally responsive.

  • Take ethical care, professional communication, and timely documentation seriously.

  • Want to build a sustainable, long-term career within a supportive group practice.

  • Bring your own personality, perspective, and clinical interests to the work.

We're especially interested in clinicians who enjoy working with trauma, ADHD, relationships, and diverse populations, but we welcome a variety of clinical specialties and approaches.

What We Bring to the Table

Our goal is simple: You focus on doing really good therapy. We'll help take care of the rest.

We know how much work goes into running a private practice beyond actually seeing clients. That's why we provide the infrastructure, resources, and support to help you focus on your clinical work without having to build an entire business yourself.

Compensation & Caseload

Estimated Annual Compensation: $59,000–$105,000

We offer a percentage-based compensation structure that grows with your caseload and licensure level.

Associate-Level Clinicians:

  • Start at 40% of collected session revenue while building your caseload.

  • Increase to 45% after maintaining a full caseload of 25 completed sessions per week for four consecutive weeks.

  • Compensation is reviewed again upon obtaining independent clinical licensure.

Independently Licensed Clinicians:

  • Start at 45% of collected session revenue.

  • Increase to 50% after maintaining 25 completed sessions per week for four consecutive weeks.

We understand that building a full caseload takes time. Our practice provides marketing, referrals, and administrative support throughout that process.

The advertised annual compensation range of $59,000–$105,000 represents our good-faith estimate for an established full-time clinician. Actual earnings will depend on licensure level, completed sessions, collected revenue, and caseload development. This range is an estimate, not a guaranteed annual salary. All compensation arrangements comply with applicable wage and hour requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing individual, couples, and/or family psychotherapy based on your clinical interests, experience, and training.

  • Conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing ongoing clinical care.

  • Building and maintaining a consistent full-time caseload.

  • Completing accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Participating in clinical supervision, consultation, and team collaboration.

  • Maintaining ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed clinical practices.

  • Continuing to develop your skills and grow as a clinician.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related clinical field.

  • Active, appropriate clinical licensure in New York and/or New Jersey.

  • Eligibility to provide psychotherapy independently or under the practice's applicable supervision arrangements.

  • Commitment to ethical, inclusive, and trauma-informed care.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Willingness to take an active role in building and maintaining a full-time caseload, including participating in marketing efforts, developing referral relationships, networking, and other practice-building activities alongside the support provided by DTC.

  • Commitment to joining DTC with the intention of remaining with the practice for a minimum of two years.

A Plus, But Not Required:

  • Experience with trauma, PTSD/C-PTSD, ADHD, couples therapy, or family systems.

  • Training in EMDR, IFS, Brainspotting, ART, CBT, ACT, ERP, or other specialized modalities.

  • Experience providing telehealth services.

  • An existing caseload or established referral relationships.

Both newer clinicians eager to develop their skills and experienced therapists looking for a better professional home are encouraged to apply.

Let's Talk About Team Culture

Here's the thing: We're not looking for a group of therapists who happen to practice under the same business name.

We're looking to build an actual team.

That means supporting each other, sharing knowledge, celebrating wins, asking questions, and genuinely caring about the quality of work we're doing together.

We don't expect everyone to have the same therapeutic style, background, or personality. Quite the opposite. We love having different perspectives and specialties represented on our team.

What we do want is a shared commitment to ethical care, collaboration, professional growth, and treating people like actual humans.

We're also looking for clinicians who are excited to put down roots with us. We're seeking team members who are ready to make a minimum two-year commitment to Ditch The Couch, because we believe the strongest working relationships, clinical growth, and team culture are built over time. We're investing in you, your development, and your success, and we want clinicians who are equally invested in growing with us.

We're building something intentional here, and we're looking for people who are excited to be part of it.

Sound Like Your Kind of Place?

If you're looking for a practice where you can grow your caseload, develop your clinical skills, maintain your individuality, and work alongside people who genuinely have your back, we'd love to hear from you!

Ditch the couch. Keep it real. Do therapy that actually works.
